About Upfront Review

Upfront Review publishes straight-talking reviews of business class and first class on the world's leading airlines. Every cabin gets ten things we like, ten things we don't, a score out of ten, and a clear verdict on whether it's better booked with points or paid for in cash.

How we review

We look at the seat and privacy, sleep quality, food and drink, service, lounges, entertainment and consistency across the fleet. Scores compare each cabin against its direct competitors on the same kinds of routes.

Points vs cash

Our verdicts weigh how easy award seats are to find, how many miles they cost, extra fees and surcharges, and how often paid fares are competitive.

Independence

Reviews are our own opinion and are not paid for by airlines. Seats, routes and award rules change often, so always check details with the airline before booking.
